Our Executive Director (ED) did a surprise visit to Bugoyi A one of the school that we donated desks in partnership with MIC Tigo Tanzania.
Our ED was glad to see that the desks were being used for their rightful purposes. A total of 80 desks were delivered to this school out of a total of 600 desks donated to 8 schools in Shinyanga. This donation has enabled us lift 1,800 students off the floor and on to desks in those schools.
The Teacher at Bugoyi A, expressed how the desks came just in time for the standard seven students who will be sitting there exams in a weeks time. She then went on to say that her schools faces a number of challenges, including lack of Teacher’s tables and chairs, latrines, library and other teaching and learning materials, she was confident that this donation will encourage other organizations to make such donations to her school as this donation from HMT and Tigo has really made a difference to her school.
The other schools that benefited from this project are Ng’waktolyo, Lyabukande, Msufini, Bugoyi A, Busungo, Mwakuhega, Mhungula and Kahama.
