Donates Desks To Schools in Mwanza

Trust donated 250 desks to schools in Mwanza Districts.
The Hassan Maajar Trust donated 250 desks to five
schools in five Districts in Mwanza Region at a ceremony held at Nyaminjundu
Primary School in Misungwi District. Mr. Shariff Maajar and Mrs. Zena M Tenga
on behalf of the Hassan Maajar Trust together presented the desks to the
Regional Commissioner, Hon.
Engineer Evariristi Ndikilo.
The beneficiary schools are; Kisesa Primary School
(Magu District), Ngundulungulu Primary School (Kwimba District), Nyaminjindu
Primary School (Misungwi District), Mitundu Primary School (Sengerema District)
and Biro Primary School (Ukerewe District). Each school received 50 desks.
“It is rare to see home grown NGOs coming to give
aid to Mwanza, and I would like to thank Hassan Maajar Trust for their eminent
support in the education sector, in Mwanza,” said Engineer Evaristi Ndikilo, Mwanza RC. “Like in most regions in our country
it is the rural areas that are in most need and it is students in these rural
Districts in Mwanza that are often faced with many challenges and particularly
that of poor learning environments and so we really appreciate the Hassan
Maajar Trust and such partners who assist to create better learning conditions
for our children,” he added.
This donation is the third of five that are
facilitated from funds raised by the Hassan Maajar Trust in December 2011
during its Fundraising Gala Dinner. So far the Hassan Maajar Trust has donated
a total of 1,194 desks out of 1,765: Njombe (680), Singida (264), Mwanza (250).
Lindi and Rukwa are to follow. A total of Tsh 22,500,000 was used for this
particular donation in Mwanza.
“One of our aims is to ensure that we create good
and practical learning environments in our schools, ” said Zena M Tenga
Executive Director of the Hassan Maajar Trust, “we hope and are working towards
making sure that our campaign ‘A Desk For Every Child’ reaches as many children
as it possibly can. I also urge donors, corporates, different institutions and
individuals to continue to support Hassan Maajar Trust and together make a
difference in the lives of many deserving children,” she added.
